Years of waiting to make a move had led to this. Months of waiting as her body grew had led to this-- this beautiful, infinitely precious moment where she gets to say hello to her son at last.

She's exhausted beyond belief. She's overjoyed beyond all measure.

She's going to be beaming as she waves her sibling over with a hand.

"Come. Meet your nephew."

Another happy gurgle, though how much the child is actually responding is always questionable. Susan doesn't particularly care, at the moment.

"He seems to agree with you."

All things are possible, she's fairly certain. If this is her first proper conversation with her nephew, she's certain it's not a bad one.

"He's a very clever boy. He must get that from me as well."

"Certainly so," Susan agrees.

And the tiny smile Rilian offers seems to indicate as much, as well.

"The real question, I expect, is how we'll ever manage to get any work done ever again."

It's a distracting little smile, after all. It demands being cooed over.

"It's a good thing there are five of us running things," she says, "Hopefully one of us won't be so completely entranced by him that we'll actually be able to rule."

It's probably not going to be her.

"...Ed, then."

Who would, no doubt, adore Rilian just as much as his other siblings, but find the proper strength of will to keep the kingdom from crashing while they celebrated the new prince.

[callmegentle]

"Probably, yes."

Because her brother was like her, in that way. Able to put things aside to keep things going smoothly.

"Which leaves the rest of us free."

Free to fuss over this perfect little prince.

[callmegentle]

"So it does."

And so they will, likely. Particularly when the little prince is so amenable to being fussed over.
