Years of waiting to make a move had led to this. Months of waiting as her body grew had led to this-- this beautiful, infinitely precious moment where she gets to say hello to her son at last.
She's exhausted beyond belief. She's overjoyed beyond all measure.
She's going to be beaming as she waves her sibling over with a hand.
"Come. Meet your nephew."

Secondmost is absolutely siblings. And first among the siblings today is absolutely Lucy, hair an absolute mess and smile sparkling like water on the waves.
"Su, he's perfect."

"Aslan has blessed us greatly today."

Date: 2014-02-04 06:01 am (UTC)"I can hardly think of anyone more worthy of His blessing."
She sits carefully on the edge of the bed, reaching to smooth the blanket over her sister's knee. It's beautiful just to be allowed to witness the mother and child, after all.

With everyone in their family, really.

Date: 2014-02-04 06:23 am (UTC)She can't help the rambunctious laugh as she scrambles, bouncing the bed only slightly while she moves to settle properly beside her sister. It's almost like when they were children to curl up together--but so incredibly different to look down at the beautiful little child in Susan's arms.
"Have you named him, then?"

Date: 2014-02-04 06:32 am (UTC)"Rilian," she tells her sister, "We decided on Rilian."
no subject
Date: 2014-02-04 06:50 am (UTC)"Rilian." It has a nice weight to it. It's the sort of name that sets well in a line of Caspians, but feels softer. Somehow more Narnian. "I hope his first memory is how entirely right his auntie always is."

Date: 2014-02-04 03:12 pm (UTC)"I've no worry of that. I expect you'll not be able to keep from telling him so."

Date: 2014-02-04 03:31 pm (UTC)"That's quite true. He should know of your contribution to his existence."
Mostly so he doesn't hold back his heart nearly as much as his mother does.

Date: 2014-02-04 03:45 pm (UTC)But the huff in her tone is completely undermined by burrowing her nose affectionately against her sister's neck for a moment. The sigh that escapes her is entirely content as she settles again, reaches a careful finger toward her nephew's small hand to smooth.

Date: 2014-02-04 08:01 pm (UTC)"You've helped us all gain a rather beautiful happiness."
One which is nearly overwhelming as she watches her sister touch her son's skin softly.

Date: 2014-02-05 12:04 am (UTC)Dark and already handsome--as stunning as both his parents.

Date: 2014-02-05 01:06 am (UTC)And likely, a fair bit of his mother's, too.
"Although I hope he gets his Auntie's big heart."

Date: 2014-02-05 01:11 am (UTC)"And not his uncle's temper, I hope."

Date: 2014-02-05 01:24 am (UTC)"Aslan willing."
no subject
Date: 2014-02-05 01:31 am (UTC)"...congratulations again."

Date: 2014-02-05 01:46 am (UTC)And she presses another brief kiss against her sister's hair.
"Would you like to hold him?"
no subject
Date: 2014-02-05 01:51 am (UTC)"Really?"
no subject
Date: 2014-02-05 01:54 am (UTC)She's a big girl now-- young woman, really. Susan's confident she can handle this.
no subject
Date: 2014-02-05 02:07 am (UTC)Absolute silence from the overwhelming joy of holding her nephew for the first time.
no subject
Date: 2014-02-05 02:28 am (UTC)"Easy, Rilian," Susan laughs softly to her son, a finger brushing against his, "If you wiggle too much you'll scare Auntie Lucy."

Date: 2014-02-05 02:52 am (UTC)"He seems to agree with you."

Date: 2014-02-05 03:00 am (UTC)"He's a very clever boy. He must get that from me as well."
no subject
Date: 2014-02-05 03:44 am (UTC)And the tiny smile Rilian offers seems to indicate as much, as well.
no subject
Date: 2014-02-05 03:50 am (UTC)It's a distracting little smile, after all. It demands being cooed over.
no subject
Date: 2014-02-05 04:05 am (UTC)It's probably not going to be her.
no subject
Date: 2014-02-05 04:10 am (UTC)Who would, no doubt, adore Rilian just as much as his other siblings, but find the proper strength of will to keep the kingdom from crashing while they celebrated the new prince.
no subject
Date: 2014-02-05 04:56 am (UTC)Because her brother was like her, in that way. Able to put things aside to keep things going smoothly.

Date: 2014-02-05 05:08 am (UTC)Free to fuss over this perfect little prince.
no subject
Date: 2014-02-05 05:16 am (UTC)And so they will, likely. Particularly when the little prince is so amenable to being fussed over.
